Delivering Direct & Indirect Care - The Responsive Nurse Technician

As a professional healthcare worker who assists the nurses, the assigned tasks of the nurse technician include, but are not limited to: using a thermometer to take the patient's temperature. Once there is a correct reading of the patient's body temperature, this information can assist in the proper diagnosis.

The professionally trained nurse technician will also have the ability to read and understand the vital signs of the patient.

The primary vital signs are:
1 - temperature
2 - pulse
3 - blood pressure
4 - respiratory rate

The stethoscope is a useful tool when determining the patient's pulse

A blood pressure cuff helps the nurse technician when reading the patient's blood pressure rate
